Rethinking sustainable mobility at local scale. Challenges of attaining comprehensive data.
Planning for more sustainable mobility practices requires firstly to recognize broad dynamics that connect transport and spatial planning, economic activities and urban inequality concerns. Organization with different scales operate within these dynamics maintaining the ability to influence and change people’s behaviors and management practices. Getting the most effective and comprehensive data is key to support decision-making process and influence mobility patterns, keeping space to innovative approaches. In this workshop a private and a public organization will present their similar and different challenges in managing data and presenting solutions.

Participants:
Joao Tremoceiro has a degree in Biophysical Engineering from the University of Évora and a postgraduate degree in Spatial Planning and Resource Management from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. He was a guest lecturer at the University of Évora and head of various services at the Lisbon City Council. He is currently director of the Centre for Urban Management and Intelligence in Lisbon.
Ana Nobre Maia is Project Management Officer in Rangel Logistics Solutions, where she drives strategic transformational programs. She has a strong background in managing complex projects with focus in processes and information systems’ implementations. She was also responsible for Business Development areas in IT in the retail sector and Head of Logistics in the healthcare sector, after some years of managing consulting projects in logistics.
João Rocha is a business developer at Santos e Vale. With consolidated experience in Management, Sales and Logistics. Is focused in the general operations and strategic planning of the company, as well as the development of new Projects and business areas. The structural reorganization and resource policy are activities inherent to the occupation.
Carla Farelo is the Integrated System of Quality Management (SIGQ_Iscte) manager, which includes the Sustainability area. Carla managed the development of the Iscte’s sustainability planning and organization, namely the creation of the three group works (Planet, Prosperity and Planet) and their action plans. Also, she was the promoter of Iscte’s system certification regarding environmental and social responsibility management. Carla is part of the research project QualEnv, that has been responsible for the cooperation between European and Latin American universities regarding best practices in Quality and Sustainability.
Nuno Bento is an Integrated Researcher at the DINÂMIA’CET of Iscte. Nuno holds a PhD in Economics from University of Grenoble (France) and he has extensively published on technology innovation, diffusion, technological innovation systems, sustainability transitions, environmental and energy economics, and climate change prospective and policies. His current themes of research encompass the formation of technology innovations, accelerated low-carbon transformation, socioeconomic impacts of different transition pathways, low energy demand innovations and sustainable transitions in business. He has consulted for organizations such as the European Commission, International Energy Agency and IPCC. From 2020 to 2022 Nuno was the coordinator of the Planet group within Iscte’s Sustainability network.
Sofia Santos is a sociologist/ geographer at Iscte’s Studies, Quality and Planning Office (GEPQ) and teaches Urban Sociology at Lisbon University. Sofia is involved in several studies that contribute to Iscte’s Quality Management System (organizational environment; mobility survey; academic success) and is a member of the Planet Group of the Sustainability network. Sofia developed her PhD thesis in urban mobility and sociospatial inequalities in Lisbon metropolitan area.
